Yay my little pekins are now hatching
First one hatched last night all on his own and had very badly splayed legs so then worried if the others would be ok. I strapped his legs up but he still just layed there squigglin around. this morning I had 6 more hatch overnight all looked ok but the chick with splayed legs was still just laying there not looking at all good. checked on them when I got home from work and now have 8 and the one with strapped legs is now up and about with the others. all mixed colours and should be some frizzle (fingers crossed) You can just about make out the lavender with the strapped legs hopefully he will be ok now.

They look lovely, pleased the one with squiggly legs is up and about, well done you :D .

Ooh! they are so lovely stepyone - how many did you get in the end?

I have 15 and 4 eggs left one with a chip in it and no sign of life from the other 3 so may get another 1 yet. does anyone have any idea how long it takes to tell if any are frizzle or will I just have to wait until the feathers grow? such little time wasters I just can't stop looking at them :D

They are gorgeous......

Is the central grey one in the first pic showing frizzle tendencies?

Well done to you all.....

Well it looks like 16 chicks in total. 2 eggs left but don't think they'll hatch. Some of you may of read an earlier post about Jerry my poorly cochin. well fearing the worst I put the last egg margot layed before her husband went lame and popped it in with the pekin eggs. didn't expect anything to come of it as wasn't sure if he'd been treading or not but low and behold it hatched. Fingers toes and everything else crossed that it will be a hen now. Also took the plasters off the little lavender pekin with splayed legs and he's now running about with the others so am really pleased. :) here are a couple of pics now they are fluffed up. still 2 pekins drying in incy so 13 pikins and a cochin :D :D :D
