Ducks not making nest

Hi,

Hatched some aylesburys last year and they've started laying but they're just dropping eggs randomly and not making a nest. Is there anything I can do?

Hello and welcome to the forum
They will just lay anywhere- they always lay in the morning so if they are locked in they will lay on the floor of the house- they will only make a nest if they are planning to go broody- try putting a low box in or make a "frame" with bricks and put some straw in.

Thanks! They sleep on a big pond at night but I've put some coops out near the pond for them. So if they want to go broody they will just build a nest?
