Ducklings attacking each other

Does anyone have any experience of sibling ducklings (6 weeks old) attacking each other? I have never seen this before, but have found a young (drake I think) in a poor way this morning in the run. There are 6 ducklings and it was the first night we had put them in with the adult ducks. It is possibly the adult drakes that have done it, although I didn't see them go near the young one this morning, but saw some of the siblings pecking him. I also wondered if they were maybe just doing this because he been attacked and looks poorly.

I thought it was rather unusual for young sibling ducks do do this to each other? I've never had this before, even with lots of young drakes. I've put an advert on a local forum to try and find homes for surplus drakes.

Hiya They don't usually go that far, but do start to bully at about 6 weeks. I suspect it's a combination of both the older and younger boys.

I hope you can find homes for the extra boys, always a sad thing about breeding

Thanks, had 3 enquiries today so pretty good. I need to find ducks though, as at the moment I only definately seem to have 2! Maybe that is why the bullying is so bad...............Had to cage one tonight, he's huge and appears to be pretty crazy, hopefully some new owners will come tomorrow.
