Hi,
my son and i are about to t6ake on a duck with a deformed bill, it is twisted to the left a bit, he is eating okay at the moment but will the probem get worse as he gets older, we are taking it on as the previous owners were going to kill it. So if you do have any advice for me i would really appreciate it.

We are also getting a Muscovy that hates water, when he was found walking around in the town near to me someone took it to a large pond with lots of other ducks on it, and it fought to get out of the water and back onto dry land. It was taken to and urban farm for them to look after but they could only have it for a short time, so we are going to have it, we have a 10 foot blow up swimming pool that is about 3 foot deep and can be cleaned out regularly and a small paddling pool, along with my twin daughters trampoline we should really have some fun.

If the duck with a deformed bill is able to eat and drink he should be fine. Just check that he is able to preen properly, this is important as preening maintains the waterproofing of a ducks feathers.
The muscovy, well they are wonderful characters, strong-willed though. I have quite a few Muzzys and love them, specially the drakes!
I would imagine he was quite stressed being put in a big pond with a lot of strange ducks! Muscovies actually aren't derived from mallard ducks, so they communicate in a completely different way. My older drakes don't really bother with the pond, as long as they are able to dunk their heads they are quite happy! I am sure though he would appreciate a nice muscovy duck to keep him company ;)

Hi Foxy,
thank you for getting back to me, it's good to know she will be okay.
I am worried about getting another muscovy as we do not have a huge are, it is probabley 30 ft long and about 20 wide, and we will have with the muscovy 3 ducks and 3 hens, and we did not want to have overcrowding. We have a lot of weeds for them to eat such as dandelions and nettles and an area which we dig over every day for the chooks to scrape through, we also give them some morrio worms which we bought for our bearded dragon. It is just so funny watching them with one having the worm and the others running around in circles after her. the Warren will actually stand on the blade of the spade and go up in the air with it unless she sees a worm then she is off.
Regards
Pete

I am wondering then if the Muscovy got lost? They can fly well and do when young.
