Do bees and chickens mix?

I am currently setting up the area for my new chickens and I'm a bit worried as it might (if I extend the fencing) include a bee hive. Is this a recipe for disaster I ask myself?

Would it be possible to maybe just fence off around the beehive so the chickens don't distrub the bees too much? I am worried about the chicken's inquisitive nature. The bees are usually focused on the pollen gathering and quite happily ignore me when I'm around.

If anyone has any ideas or thoughts let me know.

Hello, some hens will try and eat the bees- it is probably better to fence an area off for either the bees or the chickens :P

I would agree with David on that one our Millie likes to chase small flying insects, and the other girls have a peck at anything crawling about aswell.

All the best for your new arrivals, we had ours delivered last week and i am loving every second as is my 6year old daughter. :D
