Can you believe it? 16 and a 1/2 weeks old and I have my first egg!! Not sure which one laid it, I think it was "Gladys", one of my Black Sex-Links. She was checking out the nesting boxes yesterday and was in there this morning. I just arrived home and checked the boxes to make sure no one was in there goofing off and there it was, this perfect light brown egg. I yelled so loud that I'm sure you guys must have heard me.
This made all the hard work worth it.

Wow!! I know the age of puberty is steadily dropping, but didn't know it applied to chickens!

Not only is it our first egg, but it's a "Double Yolker"! She really is "The Wonder Hen"!!
I know I'm bias, but that was the best egg I've ever eaten.
