Hi can anyone advise? I have been artificially trying to incubate runner ducklings.
I am now on day 29. How long should I hang on before I give up and accept I have failed?
They have been on lock down since day 25 and nothing appears to have changed. I am not sure if I should be seeing the eggs moving which they are not. I talk to them but hear nothing.
Am I mothering dead ducks?
I will be so disappointed if they are dead. I thought I may get a couple to hatch out of the original 12. I did candle them and there were signs of change early on.
I feel like a bad mother!

one way i use to see if eggs still have life in is to fill a bowl with warm water and put eggs in if still alive you should see movement in dont' leave eggs in more than a few seconds, if you don't want to try this leave in incubator for another day or two.

Hi,
If your temp was a bit lower than 37.5 there may be a delay of a day. Which day were you counting day 1? Some count the day you put them in would be day 0 and the following day, day 1.
I wouldn't open the inci yet as the humidity will drop which is crucial at this stage.
Hold on a couple more days as things may just be slow for some reason.
Fingers crossed!
