Hi All :-)99

As some of you might know, this is my fourth attempt at incubating eggs :-)06 (First two times it was a bad 'bator, third was a broken thermostat half way through)

I purchased a Suro20 and have "Gone for it" again. :-)11 Sucker huh ? Noooo... just determined :-)10
I have been visiting the eggs at least 3 times a day even though I don't need to turn them ... willing them on :-)07

It was day 10 (ish) yesterday so I carefully candled the eggs. (I set them on a Sunday night very late). I had to remove four very obviously infertile eggs but the rest looked like something was going on :-)05 ... I think. Those pics we have in the forum are a great guide.

Soooo ... I still have the brooder and light set up from last time and the green stuff is growing in their eventual run and I wait with the patience of the frequently disappointed.

Down to 16 eggs ... fingers crossed ... and no counting the chickens before they hatch :ugeek:

I'll let you know if there's any developments ... You know the stuff... "Egg one has started singing "Under the board walk" at day 19 ! "

Now we are talkin'! Everything crossed for you...

PS lurrrrvvve the Drifters version! :-)08 :D

Hey all ! (Especially Foxy ;) )

I very carefully candled the eggs for the last time last night. I got rid of one I had missed and I'm a little dubious of another but put it back. (15 now)

The humidity has been between 41% and 45%. I have put it up to 60% and hope that the books/web are right :? I listen to you lot on here and doubt it ... What do you think ?

I recon I heard a rendition of "Aint nobody here but us chickens coming from one

well what day are you at now? I normally leave the humidity at the incubation level until external pipping starts..

PS if they are boys you will be able to sex them by colour at 2 weeks...boys can hang out together without a problem until mature..or the sight of hens or a combination of both!! :-)17 :D

I set them 18 days ago (10.06 pm last night)

I've reset the humidity to 50%, but it'll take hours to get there. :| I'll reset when pipping starts. (To what ? There are so many diferent views :-)11 ). Your success with this 'bator makes you my Guru for the clutch; As you know :D :-)99

BTW.. What is it about the colour at 2 weeks that helps sex chickens ? When I got my cockrell he was months old and they weren't 100% sure even then .... :-)02

It begins :)
