OK, may be a little bit of a stupid question, but how many worms should a bantam consume in one day?
Just spent the afternoon digging up a crumbly concrete path that was layed in the 1940s. The girls where outraged at being left out of the fun, so I let them join in. We spent the afternoon squabbling over who could pull up the next chunk first, (in my case) save the worms, (and in their case) consume as many as they could stuff into their mouths at once.
03 In the end, to save them being squashed under the ever increasing pile of concrete, I banished them to the other end of the garden. They preened, then seemed to go into snooze / trance state for a good hour.
Not seen them this relaxed or sleepy when out of the coop before, so a little worried. No signs of odd behaviour (apart from the snoozing) and they went to bed happily without any problems negotiating the ramp/ladder.
I'm presuming I'm being over protective mum, but know they did consume some red ants too, so would like to check for general opinion on worm consumption.
