Hi All,
My wife and I are planning our move to Wales at some point. We will be selling our house here in Cambridgeshire and will use the money to buy land in Wales in with other families to set up a low-impact community.
The Welsh planning laws state that we will be tied to land work, be self sufficient and live in buildings of a low-impact design and provide our household needs (power, council tax, fuel etc) from the land amongst a load of other rules and laws. If we had loads of money we could just use the conventional planning laws to build a house in the country. We don't have loads of money so need to go down the 'hard work' route.
We have been working through things to figure out what we will need in the way of chickens. These will not be part of our 'business' plans but will be for our own meat and egg production.
We have spent some time working things out but we will need to get the views of more knowledgeable people and once we get over to Wales get set up with our Chickens.
