Commerical Chicken Houses - Worth anything?

First time poster. Im thinking of buying 100+ acres for hunting and to build on in the future. However, there are 2 commercial 500' chicken houses at the entrance of the property which are set up and were used for eggs. These are for sale also and part of the acreage. I'm considering making an offer. The chicken houses are cleaned out and not currently being used. I don't want the chicken houses (I want the acreage) and would like to sell parts of the houses (big commercial fans, motors that run the belts, feed bins, etc.), but keep at least one of the houses for storage, garage, potential barn, etc. Would also consider dismantling them completely though. They are in great shape and are sided and roofed with tin. I'm wondering if their is a market for used equipment and the metal off the building itself. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I would guess if they can be dismantled, they might be worth something. Alternatively, you might consider letting them out? It might help you with security if that's of concern.

As hobby keepers, our houses are somewhat smaller and I don't really know a great deal about the commercial sheds - the best forum to ask on would be on 'The Poultry Site' as there are more people in the industry on there.
