hi all
on the subject of boys or girls (yes still wondering) the best way to tell as most of you say is wait till it lays an egg or crows!!! well here is the question how do you tell who out of a possible six has laid that egg? not got accsess to web cam lol and as for the crowing do i have to sit out there at dawn and wait??? there must be a way!!! can i paint the chickens bums? so it transfers onto the egg? lol

Sounds awful but put your fingers between the bone by the vent if you can fit 2 fingers in the space then its laying or just about to lay (does that make sense or does it sound rather rude )
also when a hen lays the face tends to go alot redder

If you are really serious about finding out which hen is laying you need trap nests.
