cockeral stopped crowing

hi all ,
i rescued a cockerel and a black silkie about a month ago, for the first couple of weeks the cockerel started crowing about 8.30ish which gradually got earlier to about 5.30ish in the last 8-9 days he has stopped crowing untill yesterday when he crowed his head off for about 2hrs but today nothing again, he looks well feathers looking shiny and healthy and his comb and wattle is now red where before it was a dull colour when we first got them any ideas anyone 19

Check for a respiratory infection. Greeny poos or a rattly chest and wheezy breathing Skippy1. May be lack of ventilation in his coop or dusty bedding or an infection which needs antibiotics. Our cockerel crows alternate days because he is ill, but not for any of the usual reasons.
