I have had a number of eggs pip, but the chicks inside have died because their stomach is on the outside.
I would be grateful for any advice!
Thanks
Mark
Is it where they just have not absorbed thier yolks properly? or is the whole stomach out as if it's a deformity? Thats an awful shame, but sorry I can't point you in any direction as to find out whats causing it unless they was early hatchers.
It sounds like a humidity problem assuming the eggs hatch ok elsewhere - the navel is unhealed and bloody and the yolk sac is unabsorbed. This is what usually happens in the last 24 hours - normally once a chick has pipped which is why it is so important not to help a chick out during the 24 to 48 hours of pipping.
