Any advice welcome. One of my light sussex free range hens about 18 months old is sitting very still and keeps twisting her head. I have separated her from other hens. Her pooh is normal colour, no signs of any respiratory problems, eyes clear, appears very disorientated. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

Hi,
Welcome to the forum :-)99 :-)99 :-)99 :-)99
I dont know what it could be, but you could contact an avian vet, try and internet search for one.

Hello tina and a big welcome to the forum! :-)99

I am sorry to hear you have a problem with your light sussex hen. Twisting the neck is usually due to either an uncomfortable crop..(twisting and stretching to relieve) or a neurological problem which is very difficult to diagnose.. this could be either genetic, or enviromental i,e a toxin or possibly a trauma. I am concerned that she is sitting still..usually hens as you know are rather active unless quite poorly.

I would suggest at this stage that a visit to a vet may be a good idea, and hope she gets well soon. Keep us posted how she gets on.
