i want to vaseline my girls combs { protect from frostbite } an legs but have never done it before so how often do i have to do it and i would assume that bedding an mud would stick to the vaseline so would this annoy the girls ??

I have been putting vaseline on the combs every few days, if it gets much colder would be doing every other day.

am going to do mine over the weekend when i find someone to help hehehehe knowing me i will cover everything esle in the stuff as well so it will be easier with 2 pairs of hands although we have it mild here for a few days but its better to be prepared .

Vaseline does work during the winter months,it also works in shows for getting the comb redder and also making the legs stand out more!

Vaseline is good, just make sure the coop is dry and well ventilated as any dampness on the combs will cause them to freeze

Normally I use a little vaseline on the combs and legs prior to a show too, but this time couldn't find the pot anywhere so used a rather expensive Estee Lauder night serum instead! Needless to say the boys looked very handsome! :lol: :lol:
