Apologies, yet another question!

Our speckled Sussex bantham hen has been fine laying, eating, drinking etc. Today she did a poo that was watery with yellow colour with what looked like blood in it. This afternoon she has been all puffed up with a droopy tail. She is in with a a speckled Sussex bantham cockerel and they have laid three fertile eggs recently.

Please could someone let me know what could be wrong with her. The last time she laid an egg was Wednesday. We have been getting an egg from her every other day before this.

I will try to work out how to add a picture so you can see what the poo looks like.

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah, yes she may be eggbound. see the Poultrykeeper website here http://poultrykeeper.com/reproductive-system-problems/egg-binding for more details and ideas about how you can help her. How old is she, and has she been laying any soft shelled eggs recently? Softies are harder to push out of the oviduct and sometimes get stuck.
Another possibility is that she has egg peritonitis. This is when an egg goes down the wrong way and ends up in the hens digestive system and eventually decomposes as it has no way out. See Poultrykeeper http://poultrykeeper.com/reproductive-system-problems/egg-peritonitis This is pretty serious, as you can imagine, let's hope its not that but you need to be aware.
How is she today? I'm sorry nobody picked this up earlier, I expect all the experts (which don't include me, I'm afraid) were out in the sunshine.
