chicken making strange noise!

Hi,

My 11 week old light sussex has started to make a noise like an old klaxton horn. It did it a couple of days ago when it lost sight of my other two chickens and I think panicked. Then it did it yesterday for no apparent reason.
I am wondering if it's a boy and not a girl as I was hoping. It also runs back and forth at the other two with it's neck feathers raised, is this male behaviour? Any suggestions?

Sounds like that could well be a cockerel. How is his comb and wattles looking compared to the others? tail feathers different?
