Hi!
I'm quite a newbie to the world of Chicken Keeping - currently owning 3 Croad Langshans and 4 PArtridge Cochins. My Cochins are housed in a typical chicken house while my Croads are in a 10 x 8 shed split into 2 - I plan to move the Cochins into the other half of the shed. Each set of birds have a run roughly 3 metres square and both have access to grass.
I am hoping to breed the Croads and show them and want to create a housing solution that makes this as easy as possible. I wonder if any of you have any photos of your setups that you could post on here?
What have you done that works really well and what would you change if you could do it again? If you are breeding for showing purposes, do you do anything different? Do you keep your "special" birds separate from your main flock or do you only split them up at breeding time?
