Hi, I am new to the site and wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I have??

I have 4 ex batts who have come on leaps and bounds and at the weekend purchased 2 ducks....
They all seemed quite happy until yesterday morning!!! I let the chickens out of their house first but when I let the ducks out of their house (they are housed seperately) one of the chickens went mental and started chasing the Cayuna and tried to get on her, pecking her neck and grabbing a beakful of duck feathers....the ducks were running away quacking with a mad chicken in hot pursuit......this happened again today so I shut the chicken in her run.....
I want them all to live in harmony but the chicken, who is the boss of the ex batts, seems hell bent on terrorising my poor Duck, who is 12 weeks old.....can anyone offer any advice please???

Many thanks

Jayne

Hi , you will need to separate them - can you put some wire up between them? So the hens can see the ducks- they should get used to them- then you can let them all out together once they have settled in and the ducks are bigger- i have two of my silkies who attack my ducks and even the geese if given the chance!regards, David :)

Jayne, that did make me laugh, I'm imagining a Wallace & Gromit style chicken chasing a poor little duck!! Hope they settle down, sure they will.
