Chick with poorly leg

Hi all

I wondered if any of you knowledgeable people out there could help me out. I have had to take on 3 chicks that are only a few days old. :roll: One of them has a poorly leg. It looks ok, it's pink and the toes are spread but it does not want to put any wieght on it. The chick has the leg drawn up to its chest. It is eating and drinking ok but it isn't as alert as the other two.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Does the foot feel hot? Any noticeable signs of injury?
If the chick is under 4 days old can have ago at splinting the leg. I use surgical tape, tape the leg to keep it straight and keep on for 24 hours, see if any change. Could have been bird with a disformed foot but worth giving him a chance.
