my one week old chick's toes have started to curl inwards only on one foot so it's having trouble walking, does anyone know why and how to cure it if possible?
thanks
Hi, bent toes are a sign of incubation trouble- normally too high a temp- you can, if caught early enough, rectify the problem- you need to splint them- the best way is to cut a small piece of card to a "foot shape" i.e. the shape of the foot as it is normally on the ground- three toes at the front one behind- and tape the foot and toes flat to the card- check every day and hopefully after a few days remove card and the foot should be better- as long as it's usable then that will be better for the chick. Hope this makes sense
