I'm in the process of making a walk in run and larger coop for our 4 birds as the Ebay one Is too small!!
The run will be covered and be about 3x4.5 meters with a roof, im planing on building a new coop that's about 1x1.5 with 3 nest boxes at about floor height and perches about a foot of the ground.
What is the best way to get the girls to start using the new coop so I can get rid of the old one?

I have finally got the new coop and run usable, the chooks have settled in ok, the first night I had to encourage them in! The second night one of the speckledys tried to get on top and had to be put in! Tonight the all went in fine, they have all taken to sleeping on the purches as they used to all sleep in the nest boxes in the old coop which was always fool of poo in the morning! I will try and post some picks if I can reduce the size of them.

In my experience changing coops is no problem if the new one is in the same place as the old one was Flynnoflynn. Moving coops, new or old, to a different location, even 20 feet, has amusing results. There will always be a few standing where the coop was looking very puzzled.

Look forward to your pictures. Sounds as if the birds really like it.

I have finaly worked out how to change picture sizes, this is the new run and coop, I still have to sort out the floor of the run which will be aubious and put some paving slbs under the hutch! it is about 1x1.4 meters and has a sand bath at the back which they love!
