Can I give my girls boiled egg?

Hi,

Have just read about giving chicks and hens mashed hard boiled egg? Is this right? I thought you weren't supposed to give animals food in the chain which they produce.....

If this is ok, is it something they like? a treat? or a protein supplement when a little run down?

(we have a glut of eggs at the moment, and there is only so many quiches I can make- as we still can't weat the eggs any other way..... :roll: )

Hi, yes, you can give them eggs- that's what they eat in the egg They wil do no harm- before chick crumbs etc was invented people fed chicks on hard boiled eggs, my granny did it with great results

My ducklings love boiled eggs, gets them really going (but not as much as live mini mealworms!)
