Call duck eggs

HI All,
I just wanted to share with you how delighted I am!
I have just candled my silver call ducks eggs and am so very happy that 10 out of 12 are fertile! I don't think that a bad fertility rate really. Not managed to candle my mallard as she was sitting tight but I will do it some time tomorrow but she it sitting on 13 eggs and I'm not sure what I will do with all the ducklings if they all hatch. My garden will be over run, totally in a good way though.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you all.

This is probably a crazy question, but I am new to the chicken world.. And loving it BTW! But what is candling?

Hi, it's shining a bright light through the egg shell to view the contents. In this case, lots of blood vessels and a tiny duckling with a big eye.
