Hi Everyone, hope you're all enjoying the weather! Just wanted to run this by you all.

The 'top bird' of my little flock is very poorly at the mo, not bothered about keeping the others in line. The bottom of the pecking order is my little Campine, always has had to stand her corner & has learnt how to duck & dive & has always managed to get what she wants/needs without any trouble. Then there's 2 who mind their own business & then a big girl (Black maran "Shirly Bassey" ) who seems to vye for the leadership, 5 birds total.

This morning a huge sqwalk & I turned round to see the Lt Sussex (ZsaZsa) with a beakfull of feathers. :o ZsaZsa looked very surprised this had happened & just stood there a few seconds with feathers sticking out of her beak. The Campine was very disgruntled this had happened but OK after a few mins, no blood drawn. I couldn't see where the feathers had come from but the head I think.

ZsaZsa Isn't the first one to 'have a go' since head girl has been below par but so far this is the worst incident (to my knowledge)

Just wondered if this is the start of a new leadership battle. Anyone have ideas on this & is there anything I can do to minimise the problem. I'm going on hols in 10 days & the person looking after them can only do the basic feed & water so want to try to keep the status-quo if poss.

Hi, if they have been together for a while then they will sort themselves out- nothing to drastic or aggressive- and no one will be seriously hurt-it's just nature- i am sure harmony will be restored soon :)
regards, David :)
