I've just posted photos of the chicks my broody girl hatched 3 weeks ago.... Meantime she is still broody....
I have tried all sorts including taken her out of nesting back with the others in the run to get fresh air and food and water.... She goes back within minutes.
She's been in a dog crate , in the house so I can keep an eye on her for the last week now. But she's still not out of broodiness.... She doesn't eat much that I can tell... She's definitely lost weight and I just don't know what I should do for her... It is quite worrying tbf. She's the only one who gets broody, and she's hatched at least once a year for the last 3 (twice last year with a month or two in between). But she usually goes out of broodiness straight after the hatch...
Have you experienced that before? I can't exactly force her to eat.... ??
