So what is this breed of the month section? What happens?

I think that originally Tim had the idea that each month someone would propose a breed that they liked and people would add comments etc. It never really took off, but do feel welcome to make it happen!

To be honest, Marigold, I did make contact and offer to write a paragraph about my favourite breed but got no response. No attitude here but I just assumed this section was derelict.

The title kind of suggests that posts should be the informed opinions of breeders (and there are plenty of breeders here that are active, keen and well informed) but I don't think that should be/is the rule or need peer review before submission.

That's me told then! Watch that space for my contribution. It's a hectic weekend but next week I'll put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard as it now is).
I think Tim is very busy not only with his own birds and very demanding job, but in developing the Poultrykeeper website, which also has a section about different breeds as part of it. The Forum was started before he got going on the website, and the Breed of the Month was part of the first development, but never really took off. It's entirely up to the current members what we want to make of it - no need for it to be limited in any way to breeders, or, god forbid, to any kind of peer review other than our usual forthright and jokey comments between ourselves. I'm looking forward to your contribution, HenGen, thanks for 'volunteering'!
