--At the weekend I decided Id have to sell my now 6 week Pootlets. 1 pair has gone to a friend where they will be treasured. I was going to keep the other pair but I decided I just cant have another breed/colour/size etc. Spent ages doing pics. , posting ads etc. on Sat. and Sun. Then last night I could not sleep ,fretting re them all night . Spent this morning cancelling ads. and attempting to make a Poot Palace this afternoon. They are TOOOOOOOOO cute to sell --they will stay here!    All ideas of becoming a chicken sales woman quickly abandoned -no one is getting them! SO--- If anyone spotted my ad. at the weekend on numerous chickeny ad. places and felt tempted -then, tough you aint getting them!" ---p.s. for VP/Sue---Boris/ Seb x 2 junior are now audible amongst the depths of blue silkie broody plumage--no idea if/what is there yet! Ros

ROS! I'm shocked-you were thinking of SELLING baby pootlets :o :o :o Shame on you,I could undersdtand you changing your mind about Silkies...........but pootlets.I'm so shocked I've had to pour myself a brandy, thank god you came to your senses and changed your mind :D  :D .
No home is complete with out pootles running around :D .

Ha Ha Ros, just one colour of sablepoot? thats how I started and ended up with 5 colours of booted bantams!
Speckled Sussex are quite easy to sex, males wattle up very early.
Have (I think) just sexed the lemon millefleurs that hatched 4 weeks ago - 3 males and 8 females???
(Lydia please don't read this bit .... but do I sell or do I keep??) :D :D :D

Ros,I was deeply shocked at the start of your post, selling my sweet little poxed cousins.I thought you were a nice 'N.F.',then,my faith in you was restored, you changed your mind :D .You must get more pootlets,we look far nicer than badly made straggly feather dusters(Silkies)and are far more charming  .

--Ha ,ha -having kept a pootly pair I sort of think more will appear!!!!! VP - you are a granny to 2 specks again-how do you remember all your grandchildrens birthdays? -- also 2 got pekins which I hope will be my 2nd generation of Creles (frizzled and plain) . ---These were 4 eggs 'just to test fertility' ha, ha.  Also-re speck sexing, this may be a fluke but as well as combs etc the ones I cooked last year-the boys had much more white in their first feathers-- does this always happen or is it signisicant? Ros

Ros you cooked some of my boys  how could you, I am now upset my poor boys! The Creole pekins weren;t mine aswell???? :D
Yes speckled sussex boys have more white in tails for the first few months on 90% of the cases. I originally thought the males had more white on head upto 5 months but found this was not the case. All white disappeared and ended up with all pullets (3 out of 3).

My OH has been asking me what I'd like for my upcoming birthday, so I said how about some bantams & she agreed, now she won't be able to complain about them as I can just say "well you got me them!" :D
