I had 12 pekin eggs from the lovely girlracer (Couldn't recommend her enough for eggs BTW!)- only one of which didn't develop and put them in my Rcom Suro with a mixed bunch of eggs from my own breeding groups - over 20 definitely fertile eggs in total! - So far (and we're on day 23!) only 3 chicks have hatched :(

In comparison, I put about the same amount of eggs in my Brinsea - So far I have 1 Cream Legbar, 5 speckled sussex, 3 white crested poland (From David, another forum member with fantabulous birds who is a lovely chap :D ) 3 of my chamois polands and they're still pipping - they were set 2 days later than the others so are on schedule and hatching like mad!

As each chick is removed to the brooder from the Brinsea I'm putting an egg from the suro into t :? he brinsea to give it a chance! :?

This is the third awful hatch I've had from the RCom - I know it isn't the fertility, situation (it's right next to the brinsea) or inbred birds so I'm going to have to pop it on ebay and get rid methinks- I'm wasting too many lovely eggs.

Before I put it on Ebay does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong??? OH has been setting temp and humidity as per intructions but it's breaking my heart getting all these dead in shell :(

It was at 45 til day 18 and then 65 from then- Think the OH got the figures from the instuctions?! - This is the third terrible hatch and I know it definitely isn't the eggs!

Got three of your WCP so far (and more on the way :D )

Hi, well i would run it at 40% or even 35%- no higher than 40% until pipping then up to 65% - not before pipping though- just my thoughts :)
regards, David :)

i always run my incubators dry untill day 18 unless the humidity drops very very low
i set up my friends suro as i told you in the pm and the humidity has been about 48 without the pump attached even tho i set it for 40.
i prefer my octagons

Thanks for the advice guys - Will try it again at lower humidity and see how that goes!

On a happy note- one of the pekin eggs I transferred into the brinsea hatched this morning :D - Yay!
