Matilda looks like my Amber Star hybrid, here pictured at 16 weeks.

Martha is a super little girl, will be very beautiful with that lovely feathering. I thought the colours are quite like my Legbar but Martha doesn't have a crest. this is my Cream Legbar at about 8 weeks, with crest beginning to develop;

I'm interested in how you got three lovely chicks and apparently don't know anything about what sorts they might be? Do tell us the story!

Oh she is a beauty Marigold. Have you named her? They do look very similar don't they :-)

Well i've been keen to get chickens for quite a while now. I developed Fibromyalgia 3 years ago so lots of things were put on the backburner.
Then my cousins husband got a new gamekeepers position which involved a house move for them. The previous tenant of the house they moved into had to leave all his chickens and roosters as he couldn't take them with him. (He was going to "dispatch" them all) :-(
Anyways my cousin told him she would keep them all. All the sheds and feeders etc were in place anyway so she couldn't bear to see them destroyed.
So there was two sets of chicks on the go :-)
She and myself are complete chicken novices... we thought we'd sexed them correctly, but people on here think i matilda might be matt and martha might be arthur :-0

Your chickens are all beautiful :-)

Can't help with the breeds I'm afraid but Nutmeg is lovely. She looks just like our Lucy Legbar (as she should) and her lobes are a bright blue so I guess the eggs are as well. My favourite breed, even though their vocabulary is very limited. All we get from ours is a squawk occasionally.

Ours laid at between 28 and 35 weeks so you may have to wait a while yet. Still laying at 3 and half years though -but moulting now so has stopped. One of our egg customers had 10 and they all stopped laying at two and she despatched them after 6 months. Lucy stopped laying at two as well and started 6 months later so maybe our customer was a bit hasty!!!
