Hi,

Heres our little Fudge and her newish friend Florrie. Fudge has really filled out, and its so nice to see her facial muff coming on. Finally got them on pellets, which I whizz up in the food processor for them, so they have bite size pieces...... :-)07 They both have rather long upper beaks, have removed some of Fudges- maybe that the reason she is scoffing her food because she can now actually pick it up. Bless.

They are absolutely gorgeous, an absolute credit to your time and patience with the love.
It's lovely to see Fudge with a little buddy, and they must be getting on well else they wouldn't sit and pose for their piccies!!

Ax

PS: I got 2 new pekins today Whoop whoop!!!

Ah bless you Aileen......

Do tell us more about the pekins?? and of course photos pleaseeee.....

What happened to the d'uccle you were hoping to get?

EW---- they are so pretty!! You will have to get them a husband . Ros

Elmwood - I really struggle to upload pics have tried and failed on numerous occasions, on't know what I am doing wrong.... Will keep trying...
Oh, and had better make that 3 new pekins..........:-).....

A

Staffs didn't work out, too far as my hubby had a meeting in Leic and was gonna do a detour but it got cancelled..... Pretty gutted as I had a frizzle lined up who was absolutely beautiful..obviously not for me this time!

They are so beautiful Elmwood ~ That first pic is soooooooooooooooooooo cute, you always get them to pose so well!
Aileen, what colour Pekins did you get? I wish you could show us them. The trouble I had with uploading was making them the right size, but there was a useful posting from Foxy (thanks for that) which told you how to resize them. We take the pics with a digital camera and upload them on the laptop that way. :)

Hi CTB,

Thankyou.....Yes she does look rather cute in that pose. The trick is to bribe them with mealworms first, then tell them they can't have anymore until NFMum takes some portrait photos. Works everytime. ;)

The truth is the belgiums seem to tilt their heads in this rather quizzical manner, and as I have one of those cameras where you can shoot loads at any one time, I usually manage to capture the girls. Mind you I have to take so many to capture their personality traits.

Aileen- As for loading and resizing photos, you can download "PICASA" for free. I never use anything else. Its makes resizing and touching up very simple. Lucky you with your new girlies!

Elmwood,I just think your girls are calmer and have more finesse than my little tykes. If I get out the mealworms they all push and fight to get to them first.

CtheB I so know!!! My litte ruffians look so unrefined next to Elmwoods chook finery!!!!
Elmwood, sod the chicken motel, you are a dab hand at chook etiquette! Pimp yourself out as a Supernanny!!!

Would you believe yesterday, my little girlies were having their 10 min handling time, on my lap, together, and they both fell asleep. Not once did they try to fly off .... just happy to take in the warmth of the afternoon sun and be caressed my NFM. Maybe chicken whispering could be the next big thing.......

Wish you could try your magic on my lot Elmwood. I might have 2 chicks soon. One of my girls (Olive) has gone broody so we let her sit on 2 eggs to see if Eddie was doing his job. Candled them yesterday and they are both fertile. Can't wait to see if they hatch. :D

CTB,

Clearly Eddie is fit for the task, but he does have rather a lot of ladies to keep happy!!

Read your other thread about possible colours of the chicks- I am sure they will be just beautiful, and that Eddie will be a doting father.

Thanks Elwood, fingers crossed they will hatch and I will put on some photos to show everyone. :D
PS Just read about your new chicken paradise you have built; I'm very jealous. Good job my girls and Eddie know nothing about it as they would be wanting something like it!
