Bantam Orpingtons

Hi, just an enquiry really. Been thinking about being able to hatch some new birds in spring to cheer myself up as the weather is sooo cold and miserable and I'm wondering what bantam orpingtons are like. Are they friendly and docile like Pekins? Also what size are they in relation to Pekins and would they get on together once they are fully grown? Also Happy Christmas to everyone=have a good time :D :D :D
 
Hi CTB------its the first year I have had them----wish - had them years ago,they are sOooooO cuddly! I have black,choc and a blue. The size varies ,my choc an blacks are not much more than pekin size ,blue is bigger. If you want choc or choc/ blck eggs I could let you have some.I also have some choc girls I have bred
that I could sell once weather warmer -----parents genuinely top show stock. I am not after silly money for choc eggs or
birds --they are my hobby!

Hi Ros, I would love some of your chocolate or black eggs, its very kind of you to offer to sell me some. I wouldn't want any until spring as I haven't the set up to look after chicks inside in this terrible weather. Shall I contact you on this forum when I am ready?
Can't wait to hatch some, it will be so exciting! :D

Orpington Bantams are lovely and so are the large fowl, very docile lovely natured. I have orpington bantams in 6 colours. They can be prone to getting lice as they have some fluffy bottoms so tend to powder them once a week as a precaution.

Hi Many thanks
I have orp bantams in gold laced, blue, black, buff, splash and lavender. Hoping to get Jubilee in the spring but is a hard colour to find in decent type birds.
