Having my first attempt at inubating this week. What im worried about is, would i be able to put light sussex bantam eggs in the incubator along with barnvelder and excheqer leghorn eggs, as i've read somwhere that the bantam eggs could hatch a couple of days earlier.

Hi I have had different breeds of bantam eggs and LF in my incubator, some hatch at day 21 some at day 25 with no problems, good luck with the hatching ;)

You can put them in the same incubator and some bantams seem to hatch at the same time as the large fowl. Two problems: 1. When do you stop turning the eggs and 2. when to increase the humidity. You could get round it by stopping turning on day 17 and not incresaing the humidity till the large eggs start to chip.

Placed twenty five egg's in the incubator last night, 9 light sussex batam egg's, 7 lavender araucana, and 9 barnvelder's. The incubator's been running steady at 37.6c and 40% humidity. Filled one comparment with water and left the vent half open. So finger's crossed.
