Hi , I am new to this site but glad I found it :D I have a broody little bantam sat on 3 eggs they are due to hatch out tomorrow ( 7th ) should there be something happening though today I have read something about pipping :? any help and advice would be appreciated I am new to this and so much want her to hatch out even 1 little chick she has been such a good little broody :)

best just to leave her to it and hope. Your little broodie will know what to do dont disturb her at this late stage and hopefully tomorrow or in the next couple of days a little chick or chicks will pop out from under her.

Just leave her to it :-)17

I have heard cheeping tonight from under one of my broodies :-)08 eggs were due Monday, dont know how many have hatched yet - fingers crossed will be able to see tomorrow :D Got another one who was due yesterday, nothing coming from there yet.

Thanks both :) just a quick check this morning and as mother got off for a drink one of the eggs was moving around back and forth :o is this a good sign :?:

Yes. Indicates something is alive and lively !

Hi Joyciee
How is the broody mum today?? how many chicks did she bring out to show you this morning?

I have 2 yellow chicks and one black one :) Only problem is mother doesnt seem to want to leave the nest :( I moved her off this morning to show the chicks how to feed on crumbs and she just jumped straight back on its like she is looking for her eggs all the time ! help :?

she probably keeping the chicks warm it is quite chilly still on a morning. Mine hatched yesterday morning and throughout the day she is not moving yet. Probably when it warms up a little later she will bring them out.

Broody has done everything right so far so trust her to know when to bring the chicks out. If you can put the food and water close to her, the chicks will come out to feed and drink, even if they go quickly back under her.

She does seem really protective over them but they have ate and drank since this morning :)
heres a pic of them with mamma hen , anyone know what breed she is sorry the photo is a bit dark ?

Couldn't see the photos. Better to post them direct onto the Forum. If you're getting mixed colours, the chicks are likely to be cross breds. Did she sit on her own eggs or a mixed lot from the other chickens as well.

here is the picture, hope you can see this one :)
