Banding ?

I red somewhere that feather legged chicks should be 'banded', could someone please explain to a newby just what this means. :?:

Hello, I think you have read about leg rings- don't know what that has to do with feathered legs- you can "band" or leg ring any bird- feathered legs or not. It is not necessary unless you need to identify certain birds or want to ring them with Poultry Club rings. Hope this helps?
