Hi

I have had runners for a couple of years and have rescued a couple of aylesburys, I was hoping someone might help me with a strange question, the aylesbury ducks, poo ALOT, much more than the runners and it also smells quite sulphur-y!!! is this normal? they are both eating, drinking and laying eggs and have settled in well over the last couple of weeks. any advice would be gratefully recieved :) :)

Mine poo alot as well, compared to my khaki campbells but it isn't out of proportion to their body weight. They must weight almost twice as much as the campbells so twice as much poo isn't unreasonable. They eat and poo especially large amounts early in life when they are growing at an enormous rate.

ok thanks :) is the smell alot stronger too? my runner ducks poo doesn't have the same strong smell and I just wanted to be sure they weren't suffering with stomach trouble!!!

Don't know. Mine are kept in a grass area with other ducks and I water the poo in regularly to stop it from killing the grass. Can't say I have noticed a sulphur smell.
