Just wondered if anyone had a take on this. Have sent an enquiry to the manufacturer but no response as yet. The label seems to be wrong:

4g (a scoop) per 200ml in water. - Mine are currently drinking only about 100ml each so would be getting about 2g/bird/day.
100mg (0.1g or a 'pinch') per Kg of animal in food. - Mine average around 1.5Kg so 150mg/bird/day.

So the guide for food is smaller than the guide for water by a factor of 13!
If it was 1g per Kg of animal then they would be much closer. A misprint?

As I've given them the stressed dose of 4g per 100ml of water in the past and they were fine I'm thinking it must be 1g per Kg in food?
Its so much more economic to put it in the food for me as I like to make sure they have plenty of water available and 2 litres is nearly half a 100g pot.

Actually, that’s crazy isn’t it? A pot would only treat 2.5L of water! 1 scoop per 2L (and the 'pinch' per Kg is actually right?)

To make matters more confusing the scoop is 5mL. For Avipro that level scoop gives 4g but the same scoop used with Flubenvet gives 6g.

We have only used it as an emergency dose administered by syringe. Generally we wouldn't put anything in the drinking water anyway. I suppose the measure is based on how much they drink relative to eating Rick.

Thanks Chris,

I suppose it may just be more effective in food than in water (pro-biotics need some food to work on after all) but it also contains vitamins which could be consumed in amounts that would be too much. I'm sticking with the 0.1g per Kg of bird in food recommendation as it's far more economical apart from anything else. That would be about 0.75g (ish) in their daily ration for 5, occasionally, so this 100g pot is going to last the best part of a year.
