Ali the Newb here,

My mum always said I should write a book about my escapades. I was being the quintessential domestic goddess today making lemon curd (using or home grown eggs)with one eye on the hob and another on the garden watching my girls as Onyx the Black cat of the family (an excellent mouser and efficient bird killer)was at large. His pressence is usually felt or heard by very loud meowing (he is an oriental) but lately he has adopted a stealth mode. His arrival back in the garden is now heralded with loud bock bock bocking flapping and panicing. At this point I jump into the fray brandishing a mop and scare the hell out of the cat who hightails it towards the garage with me in luke warm persuit, I some how manage to trip over something if not my own feet and land head first in a stack of bricks left over from our renovations - the man cutting the hedge next door on hearing my oh sh*t asked if I was ok to which I replied no I've hit my head - then carried on with his hedge cutting, for all he knows I could still be lying there!!! However whilst waiting for hubby to get home I managed to finish the lemon curd -we then went off to hospital to get checked over and have a tetnus booster. I suppose the moral to this tale is don't go chassing cats with mops. The girls were a little ruffled but otherwise unharmed and Onyx didn't show his face till after dark. I am all aches and pains have a cut on my head but we did get another egg today so I can't complain! Anyone else out there a complete disaster zone or is it just me?
