My trawling through hours of archived pages in General Chickens, in order to sort out two new subforums, has been enlivened by the occasional post such as this one, about the strange feather apparently growing out of Chris's Bottom. I hope those of us who weren't around on here in 2011 will enjoy it, as much as those who now have the chance to revisit this eyebrow-raising saga. Thank you, Chris, for sharing this with us - your Bottom was a great loss to us all, gone but not forgotten.

Enjoyed the read.
BTW a couple years ago someone brought me 2 buff orpington males for execution because they had a couple blue feathers

Loved that, but it reminded me of something rather gruesome my hairdresser told me. Don't read on if you're squeamish!

Apparently it is quite common for hairdressers to find after cutting a client's hair that a hair from the client has taken root in their skin. I don't know the exact mechanism by which it happens or how long it takes, but she said that suddenly you notice a long hair of a different colour growing out of your arm for example ... Yeuch!

Asked my daughter about this she is a hairdresser, if you get a hair lodged in a jumper the sharp end will get into the skin as the jumper rubs against your arm and hey presto. She wasn't sure how long it takes either. But she knows hairdressers it has happened to
