Hi all,
Well all six eggs hatched under my broody hen Pamela and she is being a good protective mum.
Now, here's a question for you... How do I know which chicks are male and which are female?
The dad (a golden Brahma - black feathers around bottom half with feathery legs and a gorgeous orange top) looks like the rooster on this photo https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/38/7f/b7/387fb7486b5077c967723794f88ee385.jpg
The mum is pretty much a standard hybrid RIR type (no feathery legs)
The chicks are now almost 4 weeks old and all have feathery legs. 3 chicks are yellowy colour and 3 are darker in colour.
I'm sure I read somewhere that brahmas can be sexed at hatch due to the colouring. Would this still be the case? Would the Roos be the dark ones?
I'll try and get some pictures uploaded at some point.
Thanks
