Your drake seems quite a reasonable size boy. He can probably fly up to about a meter off the ground???
I clipped one of my khakis but he still used to manage to fly just over a meter off the ground, but that was as far as he could get. But i think its after every moult when new feathers come through which is one to two times a year. You will know when he moults, --feathers everywhere! I get the garden hoover out lol!
