Hi I have two pet ducks and one hasn't eaten anything at all since Sunday. She has no other obvious symptoms of illness. I've taken her to the local cat and dog vet an he can't find anything wrong with her but suggested worming her. The only poultry wormer I can find is to mix with food. Please can anyone advise on any wormer that can be put in her water or ideally squirted down her throat. Also any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Nick

You can get Ivermectin as a pour-on. This is mainly used for external parasites but will also control many internal parasites - not all - but the majority of the most common ones.

I think you can get it in 10 ml dropper bottles from a vet. Vets usually recommend one drop on the skin per week for 3 weeks for small ducks like calls or 2 drops for large ducks.

The Vet will usually say 28 days as a withdrawal time but I doubt she is laying anyway.

The biggest worry is a high worm load that causes a blockage can release toxins into the body when they are killed and the duck can die because of this.

One other thought is to use Verm-X liquid diluted into her water in addition to this - it is 100% herbal and will help remove the worms if that is the problem but also has loads of goodness in it which will help feed / boost her up a little.

She will need water whatever happens so make sure she's drinking

Good Luck..
