Mine is a saw bench Icemaiden, so you can slide the timber along a guide. A hand circular saw will be adjustable for blade angle relative to the base, but it depends how much adjustment you have on the guide as to whether you can use it -can't do it with my little Bosch. Please be careful !!! A plane is much safer.
