Hi,

About two weeks ago my khaki duck started sitting on eggs (not just her eggs),
and a few days ago there was 11 eggs on the nest and i came today and there was only 6 or 5 that could be seen without digging up the nest.(The nest is in there house).I'm hoping to get ducklings,so i need to know how to.And it's muddy and it was snowing about a week ago.And i have 8 white ducks 1 of them is really really dirty it looks like shes not oiling her feathers.and another white duck laid an egg without a shell just the inner soft shell. Yeah and my moscovy duck ,i dont know if it is female or male, but my white male sometimes puts his bill to the ground and follows her for a bit.
they do have fresh water everyday ,when we let them out we give them fresh water. What we feed them is corn, organic layers pellets ,grass ,cucumber, tomatoe, lettuce and sometimes bread.
Thanks
Someone please tell me about my ducks.
reply soon

Hi ducker, it's the wrong time of the year for a duck to be sat on eggs, but the first thing i would ask is apart from the one duck your not sure of the sex of, do you have any other male ducks that would have fertilized any off the eggs? Easiest way to tell if its a male or not is there will be 2 or 3 tail feathers curled up.

If there is a chance the eggs could be fertile i wouldn't disturb the duck or eggs to much as, just let nature do it's job.
