Thought I'd share a funny story!
Last night my hubby went out to close up the chooks, it was about 6p.m. As usual he closed the pop-hole then opened the main door to check all were in. Counting them, he found 1 was missing, checked the nesting boxes but not there either so looked again on the perch & pushed them aside incase she was hidden, but no, definately Zsa zsa the Campine was missing.
Panick slightly rising (knowing she's one of my favourites) looked around incase something dire had happened & started searching around with the aid if a very small torch. Nothing, no chook alive or dead
Just as he was begining to think she had vanished (don't know how as its an enclosed run :? ) he spotted the wooden box I'd put for them to shelter beside when we had that awful weather. It was upside down so he lifted it up & there she was underneath asleep. What had obviously happened sometime during the day she'd perched on the edge, overbalanced it & it had ended upside down with her underneath. OMG! how long had she been there :shock: She didn't seem any the worse for the experience & trotted off to join her friends.
But it did make us laugh, you can just imagine her little mind "OOhh, night time already. OK, Nitenite then!!" :lol:
P.S I've now moved the box :roll:
