My Silkie Lottie yesterday hatched 8 little Lottie/Pierres, dad is my lemon cuckoo Pekin.

I will be interesting to see how different they will be from each other, and if there are many differences.

Both are lovely birds, and if anyone on the forum feels the need they are welcome to have one of them them, I will keep posting about progress and then sex.

Lovely weekend everyone.

Hi Val, that's excellent news! Silkie X Pekin sounds a lovely cross. You know we shall all be wanting to see pics of them? If you haven't yet cracked how to do it, do feel free to email me the photos and i'll put them up for you.

The photos I have seen of this cross make for very cute birds indeed! I wonder if the females turn out to be super-broody? Well done, 8 is a good number for a clutch, and I bet you'll have a lot of fun watching them grow up.

No 8 arrived this morning, from a very cold egg! I didn't hold out any hope for it, but she pushed it back under her, with a positive result. Today they are outdoors, in a little hut which is ideal, she is spread like a large yellow pancake over them all.
All seem healthy and lively. (ATM).

All have 5 toes, only 2 have black beaks and skin, and all are a very pretty lemony colour with darker backs. All seem lively and very chirpy. It is lovely to see them climb all over Lottie, and appear from her! I think she is a good mum, and protective of her brood.
