Hi all,

Yesterday my female goose hatched 5 goslings, they then proceded to peck them and chuck them in to the river besyde her nest (they were only just coming out of the shell) so i scooped all 5 out of the river and put them in a tank with a heat lamp over them, 4 of them are up and about, trying to walk - but not getting far without having to sit down, one however has a massive head and is laying lifeless but breathing (will occasionally move around) what is best to do with it? Remove it from the others or leave it be and hope for the best? Do I return them back to the female goose, who is back sitting on her nest again? I don't know what to do so any help would be greatly received :)

Thank you

Firstly i havent got geese, only ducks.

But regarding experience with ducklings i would personally say separate the poorly one keep it warm under a lamp obviously. If it doesn't eat or drink anything you may want to try to syringe it some cooled boiled water with a touch of sugar to try to perk it up. Or you can let nature simply take its course, sometimes thats for the best. Sorry I couldnt help you more!! Good luck!

Hey,
Thanks for the advice, the poorly one has perked up since having the sugary water - its now eating chick crumb with the other goslings :)

Cheers
