Well, my two ducklings that I rescued have turned out not to be a boy an girl, but two drakes! Dolly has now become a Donny :-)07 I did want a flock of ducks (I am a first time owner) but the coop I have can only fit 4 more in. I was originally thinking 5 girls to one boy, but this changes things. I have the chance of a few black swedish girls, but am I right in thinking that 2 drakes to 4 girls is a dreadful ration for the poor girls? Am I best to just have the two drakes as pets and forget about it? Or can 4 girls to 2 drakes work without too much stress? I would really appreciate some honest opinions. Thank you.

Two drakes will be fine on their own without any ducks. As you say introducing four girls would not only be hard on the girls but would make the drakes more likely to fight. Some people do keep 'bachelor' flocks of ducks quite happily and successfully so if Fate has given you two lovely boys, I would say, just enjoy them. Or else rehome one of them and get some girls for the other one, maybe next Spring?

I agree with Marigold :) Keep your two boys, they will be happy together, once you bring in any females, you will get aggression between the boys.
