Hi
I'm a newbie to this site and hatching chickens . this is my second batch of incubating chickens , had a power cut with the first ones .
i'm on day 25 and 3 eggs have been moving for 3 days . just very small movements, I have no idea why they are not hatching can anyone help me please . I'm using a brinsea mini advanced and have been through the settings several times and everything is looking as it should be , it would be heart broken if they die before hatching . any advice would be greatly appreciated . THANK YOU

Hi cathlee and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you're having problems with your hatch. I've used a mini advance and found it reliable, though of course things can go wrong. Do you have an extra, independent thermometer in the incubator, to check the actual temperature? If it's a bit too low, this may delay the hatch by a day or so. And how high have you had the humidity during incubation? many people in the U.K. find that quite low humidity is best in the early stages, before pipping, and actually incubate dry, relying on the moisture on air being drawn into the incubator, to give about 45-50%. On the other hand, you should have raised the humidity to about 70% when they pipped, adding extra water to the pots, to help soften the shells - I expect you did this?
Not much else you can do at this stage, I'm afraid, if you think the temperature and humidity are correct. I hope you get a hatch by the time you read this, do let us know what happens, good luck.
